Sizing Advice & Information

When describing belt sizes, manufacturers tend to use generic descriptions such as small, large, XL, XXL etc; this is because the belt can fit a range of sizes. However, manufacturers have vastly differing views on what constitute small, large and so on. Therefore, we have put together some information which we hope will assist you. In addition, where possible or practicable, we have included a ‘true’ measurement, which it taken by measuring from where the buckle fold, to the middle hole (see diagram). 

However, because this is a belt, it is possible to use holes closer to the belt end and/or add additional belt holes, for example, where a belt is quoted as being 32”, by using the adjacent holes, it could reasonable have a ‘size range’ of 31” to 32”, without using the first or last hole. Adding additional holes can add to this range.

If you have an existing belt, then you can utilise the same methodology to estimate the right size for new belt, by laying the belt on a flat surface and measuring from the buckle fold, to the most frequently used hole.

That notwithstanding, the best advice we can give is always to order the next size up, in other words, if you have a 32” waist, then order a 34” belt. There is nothing worse, in terms of aesthetics, than utilising the last hole on the belt!
